	Our History The McBurney Transport group is a family owned business with over 40 years experience in the transport industry. We have become one of Ireland’s largest independent haulage companies, providing a wide range of tailored logistics services to customers throughout Ireland, UK and Europe. We have McBurney Transport Norman McBurney established McBurney Transport in 1965 to provide road haulage throughout Ireland & UK. Over the years McBurney Transport has continued to grow in size and scope, therefore increasing our capability to service our customers’ logistical needs. The company has busy depots in Ballymena, Dublin, Penrith & Liverpool. As part of the group’s growth strategy, McBurney Transport most recently acquired the trade and assets of Joseph Baird Transport in September 2004. Bondelivery The purchase of Bondelivery in Belfast in the 1990 gave access to a storage & distribution facility. Bondelivery has now substantially grown and become a leading storage & distribution company throughout the North & South of Ireland. Bondelivery was awarded Export & Freight’s Irish Logistics Company of the Year 2004. McBurney Refrigeration Ltd In July 2000, P&O Ferrymasters refrigerated division was purchased by the group, which provided an operations base in Liverpool together with a new customer, base requiring refrigerated haulage for mostly food manufacturers and retailers. This company has substantially expanded and now trades as McBurney Refrigeration Ltd with depots in Ballymena, Liverpool & Dublin. In May 2003 we acquired Pleroma Distribution Ltd in Liverpool, which provided a 12,500 pallet space cold & chilled storage facility together with a well established transport operation. This new operation has fitted in well with our existing business in Liverpool and the new cold store has opened up new opportunities for us to provide added value to our customers. This base has also given us the ability to provide a cross docking and consolidation facility. Most recently we have built a new ‘state of the art’ extension to this cold storage facility, which increases the capacity to 22,500 frozen pallet spaces and 5,000 chilled/ ambient pallet space.
